David Phelps Biography
David Phelps is an American Christian music vocalist, songwriter, vocal arranger, and producer who was born and brought up in Tomball, Texas, United States of America. He is widely known for singing tenor in the Gaither Vocal Band. He has also released several solo albums, including four Christmas collections. Phelps also appeared on Extreme Makeover Home Edition for the Woodhouse family, on January 13, 2008.
In 1997, Phelps joined the Gaither Vocal Band, one of the most popular gospel groups in the world. He toured with the group for eight years, during which time he released several albums with them and won numerous awards, including two Grammys and four Dove Awards.
Phelps is a two-time Grammy Award winner and a 13-time Dove Award winner. He has also won numerous other awards, including the American Music Award for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist and the Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Artist.
In 2005, Phelps left the Gaither Vocal Band to focus on his solo career. He has since released eleven solo albums, all of which have been met with critical acclaim. He has also won numerous awards for his solo work, including several Dove Awards and a Grammy Award
