Suspect in killing of Temple officer has preliminary hearing postponed
The preliminary hearing for the Temple University Police Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald murder suspect was postponed indefinitely.
18-year-old Miles Pfeffer faces murder charges. He’s in Philadelphia’s Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility without bail.
He shot and killed Sergeant Fitzgerald near Temple University on February 18.
Pfeffer allegedly shot Fitzgerald several more times in the head after the shooting.
Pfeffer allegedly carjacked after the shooting. Surveillance video recorded the audio.
“Get out of the car. Give me the keys, give me the keys. I’ll kill you, swear to God,” the suspect is heard saying.
North 30th Street and Sedgley Avenue housed his alleged stolen car. Miles Pfeffer was arrested the next morning after driving almost an hour to his family farm in Buckingham Township.
The suspect’s brother helped police identify and arrest him, according to court documents.
