Marcia Clark is a U.P. Attorney, television correspondent, and author, who has come to light for handling a few high-profile murder cases, such as the Robert John Bardo case and the high-profile trial of OJ Simpson, accused of murder of his ex-wife and friend Ron Goldman.
She is also an author and most of her books are entirely based on criminal and legal cases (fictional and non-fictional) and some are excerpts from her career as a prosecutor with the challenges she faced.
Brief biography
Marcia was born as Marcia Rachel Kleks on August 31, 1953 in Alameda, California to Jewish parents – Rozslyn Kleks and Abraham Kleks. Growing up, her family moved around a lot as a result of her father’s job as a chemist with the Federal Food and Drug Administration in the Health and Human Unit.
Clark attended Susan E. Wagner High School and then the University of California where she earned a degree in political science. She would go to Southwestern Law School, from where she earned a law degree. After college, she began her career as a public defender in Los Angeles before becoming a prosecutor in 1981 and as a prosecutor she handled and won several high profile cases such as the Robert John Bardo case; that Marcia Clark assured was put behind bars for the murder of young actress Rebecca Schaeffer in 1991.
She was also in charge of the trial of former NFL player OJ Simpson for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown. OJ Simpson’s trial had a difficult and challenging time in his life as it drew much scrutiny and reaction from the media and general public. After the case, she resigned from legal practices and wrote. She has written several books like S Nap Judgment, Guilt by Degree, Blood Defense, Competition, Without a Doubt (which she co-wrote with Teresa Carpenter on the Simpson case). The books are all centered on crime and court cases.
Apart from being a writer, she has appeared in numerous television series which also center on her career as a prosecutor, some of which include The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story and OJ.: Made in America, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
