Eat Your Kimchi is no longer active; Simon and Martina use separate platforms. Their divorce news shocked many of their fans as they had huge followers.
The video vlog, Eat Your Kimchi was started by two Canadian individuals, Sam Stwaski and Martina Sazunic, back in 2008. At that time, both of them lived in Korea, and they vlogged their daily life experiences, food, and cultural differences there.
They even had their own registered company, "Eatyourkimchi," and worked from their studio in Seoul, South Korea.
After a few years, the couple moved to Tokyo, Japan, and started a new vlog channel called "Eatyoursushi". However, they rebranded the channel and named it Simon and Martina. Many people loved the channel, and the couple had a huge fanbase from all around the world.
Their blog channel, "Eat Your Kimchi," got the best recognition and was even listed as the 18th most popular YouTube channel in South Korea in 2011.
In the same year, the blog channel was listed as the best expat vlog, and Yonhap News even noted that Sam and Martina helped people know about Korea's culture from a local perspective.
The divorce news of Sam and Martina became official in early 2021, and it was unexpected for many people. Both of them posted their reasons for divorce through a YouTube video. Now both of them are running their account.

Simon and Martina of Eat Your Kimchi got divorced in 2021. Simon mentioned that their separation started in Japan, but they finalized it after returning to Canada.

To begin with, Simon and Martina had been in the public eye for a really long time. Eat Your Kimchi was their first couple's YouTube channel, where she showed the snippet of their life story in Korea.
After moving to Canada, both of them started posting content individually and used individual terms like "I" instead of "We" and "Us".

Finally, in 2021, Simon and Martina gave their official divorce news through an Instagram post. In the caption, they mentioned that they have been together for 15 years and had great adventures.
They realized that their goals and priorities have changed, and both of them are not following the same path anymore. The journey of divorce and starting new lives individually seemed challenging, but they were ready for a fresh start.
What Happened Between Simon And Martina?

The couple never had any children, but they had a few pets whom they treated like their own blood. Previously, they had a dog named Spudgy, who passed away in 2018 while the couple was in Japan, and a cat named Meemers, who is still here.
People were quite respectful of Martina's decision when she mentioned not being ready to get a new dog, but Simon, on the other hand, was ready to adopt a new pet.
The couple stopped posting videos in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and fans thought that the couple could only explore places a little due to the pandemic, as their channel was mainly based on travel and food.
In August 2020, Martina posted that the couple was moving back to Canada, and it was the same time Simon got a new dog.
After Simon and Martina announced their divorce news in early 2021, things got a bit messy later, making people turn to Simon. That happened when Martina started posting comments on content related to issues like surviving narcissistic personality disorder and abuse, which made people more invested in the divorce.

Martina moved back to Japan, where she continued vlogging on her new YouTube channel, King Kogi, and also in Eat Your Sushi. On the other hand, Simon has started a new series where he reads different books and talks about them in Simon's Book Club.
